Wireless Security Assessment (WSA)

The Wireless Security Assessment (WSA) is comprised of the following:

  • Review of the security of the Company's wireless LAN deployment
  • Identification of open access points, insecure authentication protocols, and insecure wireless architectures
  • Identification of rogue, unauthorized access points on the Company's LAN
  • Manual review of access point configurations
  • Recommendations for securing corporate and guest wireless networks.

Wireless networks are a common source of security exposure, as they allow hackers and joy-riders access to the internal corporate network if not configured properly. Unauthorized access via wireless networks can completely circumvent the firewall protection provided for WAN Internet connections. Furthermore, a rogue access point deployed by an employee is a potential corporate security risk, as they may provide under-the-radar backdoor access to sensitive internal network assets.

The WSA provides due diligence on the security of wireless LAN deployments, and offers recommendations for locking down access to the wireless LAN.
