Perimeter Security Assessment (PSA)

This "hacker's perspective" assessment involves the enumeration of vulnerabilities and security risks that are accessible from the Internet. It includes:

  • Off-site vulnerability analysis of each client's network from the Internet (the hacker's and worm's perspective)
  • Manual validation and interpretation of results
  • Detailed remediation advice and reporting

The PSA provides a detailed security and performance analysis of the systems on each client's network as observed from the Internet. It furnishes information on weaknesses in the applications and systems analyzed that could allow for the successful propagation of hacking and worms. The information is compiled and presented in the form of a detailed report.

Web servers, mail servers, database servers, routers, and firewalls that are out of date or improperly configured may be open to attack and can compromise the data privacy and performance of your network infrastructure. The PSA exposes vulnerabilities and weaknesses in network components by analyzing communication services, operating systems, unprotected ports, applications, and router and firewall configurations.

Using best-of-breed proprietary, open-source, and commercial scanning tools, Illumant identifies security holes, risks and instabilities in each client's domains and subnets. Illumant's Expert Security Analysts manually validate findings by confirming security holes, discarding false positives, and uncovering vulnerabilities not detected by the scanning tools.
